CPR Course Information
The CPR course is one of the most widely completed First Aid units in Australia, designed to equip participants with the essential skills to respond in a life-threatening cardiac emergency. It is often referred to as “CPR certification” or “Provide CPR training”.
Whether required for work compliance or personal preparedness, CPR training ensures you have the confidence and practical skills to act quickly and effectively in an emergency.
This course covers the nationally recognised unit of competency:
HLTAID009: Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
You must be at least 14 years old to book a first aid course unless a parent is doing the course with you.
You’ll need a Unique Student Identifier (USI) for your First Aid course.

What do I need to bring with me on training day?
Bringing the correct ID is essential — it’s one of the most important requirements on the day.
Please review our ID Requirements section above before attending to ensure you have the right documents.
If you didn’t supply your USI (Unique Student Identifier) at enrolment, you’ll also need to bring that with you.
Wear comfortable clothing, as you’ll be asked to perform practical First Aid and CPR activities, which may include kneeling on the floor. We’ll provide all course materials on the day.

Child Care First Aid Course
HLTAID012 – HLTAID011 – HLTAID010 – HLTAID009
This course is suitable for those in the professions listed above and includes all units from the First Aid Course, plus the additional HLTAID012 unit.
The HLTAID012 unit teaches the skills and knowledge needed to provide first aid to infants and children according to guidelines set by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other national clinical bodies.

CPR Course
HLTAID009
This course is ideal for anyone who may need to perform CPR in various situations, including workplace settings.
It is designed for individuals who are directed by their employers to renew or refresh their CPR certification, as well as those who want to complete the CPR unit on its own.
Participants typically complete this course annually to stay informed about the latest techniques and guidelines. Most attendees enrol primarily to maintain their certification and ensure they are equipped with current life-saving skills.

What if I can’t attend the scheduled date for the course I booked?
You can change your class location, time, and date once at no additional cost — no questions asked. Just be sure to contact us before the scheduled start time of your class. Please note that if you do not attend and fail to notify us prior to the class start time, you will forfeit your booking.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements
To successfully complete any First Aid course, all students must have a basic level of English language, literacy and numeracy. This ensures you can understand safety information, follow instructions, and participate safely in both the training and assessment.
You must be able to:
Read and understand simple safety signs, instructions, and short texts
Write basic information (e.g., completing forms or short written responses)
Communicate clearly in English with the trainer and other participants
Follow verbal instructions during activities and assessments
Use simple numeracy, such as reading times, basic measurements, or safety-related quantities
If English is your second language
You must have a level of English that allows you to fully participate in the course. If you are unsure, please contact us — we can help you determine whether this course is suitable for you.

Can I get RPL for this course?
We do not offer RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for any First Aid courses in Australia.
Because First Aid units have strict currency requirements and expire, all students must attend and complete the full course and assessment activities to be issued a certificate.
Physical Requirements
All First Aid courses require you to complete practical activities, including demonstrating CPR on an adult manikin. To meet the assessment requirements, you must be able to:
Perform 2 minutes of continuous CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor
Kneel on the floor for an extended period
Use your arms and upper body strength to deliver effective compressions
Perform other basic first aid tasks such as placing someone in the recovery position, applying bandages, and using an EpiPen or asthma device
