First Aid Course Information

HLTAID009: Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
HLTAID010: Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
HLTAID011: Provide First Aid

The First Aid course, which includes CPR training, is among the most popular courses offered. It's often referred to as the "Senior First Aid" course, "Level Two First Aider", or the "First Aid Officer Course". This course encompasses all of the units of competency mentioned above.

How long is this course valid

Your First Aid certificate remains valid for three years. However, the Australian Resuscitation Council advises undertaking a CPR refresher course every 12 months.

Duration of Course

The First Aid Course is all face-to-face. There is no online or prior learning required. The course runs for 5 to 6 hours.

In this First Aid Course, participants will learn about:

  • Understanding the Roles and Obligations of a First Aider
  • Implementation of the DRSABCD Action Strategy
  • Reacting to Various Emergency Scenarios
  • Tending to Individuals Who are Unconscious
  • Performing CPR on Adults, and Infants
  • Operating an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Diabetes, Seizures, Asthma, Allergic Reactions, Anaphylaxis
  • Administering Care for Wounds and Managing Bleeding
  • Providing Treatment for Burns
  • Managing Fractures, Dislocations, Sprains, and Strains
  • Addressing Hypothermia and Hyperthermia
  • Attending to Head, Neck, and Spinal Injuries
  • Managing Various Medical Emergencies
  • Reacting to Choking Episodes
  • Administering Care for Abdominal and Chest Injuries
  • Handling Poisoning Incidents
  • Addressing Bites and Stings
  • Recognising and Managing Strokes
  • Legal Aspects, Upholding Safety and Managing Risks
  • Maintaining Infection Control in First Aid

First Aid Certificate

All participants must undergo an assessment after training for the First Aid Course

All our first Aid certificates come with a QR code. This QR code can be scanned by your employer to verify authenticity.

All participants that successfully complete the first aid course will be issued a statement of attainment (certificate)

You will be issued your first aid certificate straight after your course to use immediately.

  • Verbal and written comprehension of the English language
  • Obtain a USI – usi.gov.au Everyone can get a USI. Its very simple. Just click the link and follow the prompts.
  • Appropriate clothing

  • Course duration for training and assessment is 1 day

  • Allowances can be made for participants with language, literacy & numeracy issues.

RPL recognises people who already have the knowledge and skills required for competency in various elements of units of an accredited training package should not be required to re-learn what they already know. The process of RPL also takes into account that various competencies can be acquired through:

  • previous qualification,
  • work experience and
  • Life experience

RPL requires that evidence of competency are demonstrated. Please contact the RTO if you feel you are eligible for this assessment pathway.

  • Change your class location, time and date at anytime on one occasion at no extra cost. No questions asked. As long as you contact us before your class start time. If you do not show up and make no contact prior to the class start time you forfeit the booking.
