Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) Requirements
To successfully complete any First Aid course, all students must have a basic level of English language, literacy and numeracy. This ensures you can understand safety information, follow instructions, and participate safely in both the training and assessment.
You must be able to:
Read and understand simple safety signs, instructions, and short texts
Write basic information (e.g., completing forms or short written responses)
Communicate clearly in English with the trainer and other participants
Follow verbal instructions during activities and assessments
Use simple numeracy, such as reading times, basic measurements, or safety-related quantities

Can I get RPL for this course?
We do not offer RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for any First Aid courses in Australia.
Because First Aid units have strict currency requirements and expire, all students must attend and complete the full course and assessment activities to be issued a certificate.
Physical Requirements
All First Aid courses require you to complete practical activities, including demonstrating CPR on an adult manikin. To meet the assessment requirements, you must be able to:
Perform 2 minutes of continuous CPR on an adult manikin placed on the floor
Kneel on the floor for an extended period
Use your arms and upper body strength to deliver effective compressions
Perform other basic first aid tasks such as placing someone in the recovery position, applying bandages, and using an EpiPen or asthma device
