Enrolment Requirements-  Enrolment Requirements – First Aid Course

To enrol in this course, participants must meet the following requirements:

Minimum Age 

Students must be at least 12 years of age at the time of training.

Language, Literacy & Communication

Students must have basic English language skills to:

  • Read and understand simple written instructions
  • Communicate clearly with others during emergency scenarios
  • Follow verbal directions from the trainer
  • Complete written and verbal assessment activities

Physical Capability (Important)

This course includes practical assessment of CPR and first aid skills. Students must be physically able to:

  • Get down to and up from the floor unaided
  • Perform continuous chest compressions on an adult manikin placed on the floor for at least 2 minutes
  • Follow DRSABCD emergency response procedures
  • Use basic first aid equipment such as bandages and an AED training device

Comfort with Physical Contact

Students must be comfortable participating in practical activities that involve simulated first aid scenarios, which may include touching manikins and working in close proximity with other participants. 

Identification Requirements

Students must be able to provide valid identification as required by the training provider for enrolment and certification. 

Behaviour and Safety Compliance

Students must agree to:

  • Follow all trainer instructions and safety directions
  • Behave in a manner that does not put themselves or others at risk
  • Participate in practical activities in a safe and respectful way 

Assessment Participation

Students must be willing to actively participate in all learning and assessment activities, including:

  • Practical demonstrations
  • Simulated emergency scenarios
  • Knowledge-based questions 

Technology (If Applicable)

Where theory components are delivered online or digitally, students must be able to use basic technology such as:

  • A computer, tablet, or smartphone
  • Simple online learning or assessment platforms 

Unique Student Identifier (USI)

Students must provide a valid USI (Unique Student Identifier) prior to course completion in accordance with national training requirements. 

Fitness for Training

Students must not be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and must be fit to safely participate in practical first aid training on the day.
